FLX Goldens Health Guarantee Terms
1. Duration & Coverage
FLX Goldens guarantees that your puppy is free from any life-threatening congenital or hereditary defects for a period of one (1) year from the date of birth.
This guarantee covers:
- Severe hip dysplasia (as confirmed by OFA or PennHIP)
- Congenital heart defects (as confirmed by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist)
- Inherited eye disorders causing blindness (as confirmed by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist)
- Other life-threatening genetic disorders that clearly impair the dog’s quality of life
2. Breeder Responsibilities
- The puppy will have received age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming before going to their new home.
- A health record and copy of the puppy’s veterinary wellness check will be provided at pickup.
- The puppy will be microchipped before leaving, registered to FLX Goldens and the buyer.
3. Buyer Responsibilities
- The buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of pickup.
- The puppy must receive routine veterinary care, vaccinations, parasite control, and a proper diet.
- The puppy must not be subjected to strenuous exercise (e.g., running on hard surfaces or excessive jumping) until at least 12 months of age, as early stress can impact joint development.
4. Claim Process
- In the rare event that a genetic condition covered under this guarantee is diagnosed, the buyer must notify FLX Goldens in writing within 10 days of diagnosis.
- The buyer must provide a signed and detailed report from a licensed veterinarian, including any necessary test results.
- A second opinion from a specialist may be required at the breeder’s discretion and expense.
5. Resolution Options
If a covered genetic condition is confirmed:
- The buyer may return the puppy to FLX Goldens for a replacement puppy from the next available litter.
- If the buyer chooses to keep the original puppy, FLX Goldens may offer a partial refund to help cover veterinary costs, at the breeder’s discretion.
- In no event will FLX Goldens be liable for more than the original purchase price of the puppy.
6. Exclusions
This guarantee does not cover:
- Common parasites (worms, fleas, giardia, coccidia)
- Minor or treatable conditions (allergies, hernias, cherry eye)
- Conditions caused by poor diet, neglect, abuse, injury, or failure to follow veterinary advice
